Mary M. Weber

Breakout Speaker

SESSION 1: Leading Change

Change is not only inevitable, it is essential.

In this breakout session, you will learn the dynamics of change, including organizational change, and how people react to it. Mary will address a limitation in traditional change management discussions-- the implication that somehow, if we can only ‘get through’ a change that life will then settle down and we can operate in a more stable environment. However, in reality, change never stops. Better understanding the way that you and others react to change will help you maintain a positive and productive environment.

This session’s key takeaways are:

•Understanding the “processes of change and transition”
•Recognize how different people react to change and identify your own typical responses
•Learn and apply effective techniques for managing and leading change
•Identify personal and team coping skills to effectively manage stress

SESSION 2: Going from Me to We

Do you ever think that no matter how hard you work that there are not enough hours in the day?
Do you take on too much and feel stressed, overworked, and like you are letting people down?
Successful leaders master the art of delegation and empowerment. In this session, learn how you can shift your focus from personal achievements to team successes. Explore why it is hard for you to “let go” and strategies for moving forward. Discover how delegating tasks and authority to others builds a strong and effective team that is able to meet ongoing demands.
