The 2012 YWCA Women's Leadership Class Listens to Panel of Women Entrepreneurial Leaders
The YWCA Women's Leadership Development Program heard from a panel of speakers that featured women entrepreneurial leaders on December 15. These leaders spoke of twists and turns life takes on the road to your destination and how we are all related. "The truth is, we all live upstream or downstream from someone," said Lisa Coons. The YWCA Elizabeth Kearney Leadership Development Program is a nine month program that meets once a month. This program uncovers and develops women's strengths, values and talents in a powerful way. It focuses intention towards a greater impact. Results of the program show up at the personal, family, work place and the community level.

Join the YWCA for Colorful Dialogue
Join us for Colorful Dialogue January 25, 6 to 7 p.m., at the Emy Frentz Arts Guild on 523 S. 2nd St., Mankato. Experience a cross cultural conversation as we discuss the topic of the perception of the police. Police roles in immigrant and refugee countries are often different than that of police in the United States. Fear and cultural perceptions of police stay with immigrants when they come to the U.S. Opening conversation on this topic communicates a police officer's role as someone who is there to help and who should not be feared.
